Yard Makeover!

From this....

To this!!!

It is hard to tell in the first picture, but there were 3 rose bushes up by the sidewalk as you walked up to the house that never really did very well...and so Nick replaced them with some new palm tree's!! It looks ten times better! Also there were 2 tree's planted in the front yard and one was dead, so Nick dug up the dead one and replaced it and also added a third tree so now we have a total of 3 tree's and 5 Palms. I forgot that he also removed the small green bush from under the guest bedroom window on the left with a palm as well! Thanks hun for doing a little Yard Makeover!! Hopefully in a few months when it warms up we can finish putting in the grass and plans etc in the back yard and MAYBE if we are here long enough we will replace the rock in the front yard with grass as well! :)!!

Post OVERLOAD...3 posts below

Part of our Christmas gifts were an Electric Wheat grinder and Bosch mixer so of course we had to try them out! Cindy helped me make my first loaves of bread. I ground the wheat...and made the dough (with out killing the yeast :)) and baked it! It turned out good for my first time! I am only posting this because this is a huge accomplishment for me and it's something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time. Now I can!!

Also I finally got around to seeing Twilight with the girls. It was good, but the books are way better! Still had tons of fun though. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Christmas 2008

Wow what a wonderful Christmas holiday! We were able to have all ten of my immediate family members come stay for almost a week at my house! It was so much fun we played games, cards, rock band, catch phrase and the paper bag game. Thanks to Nick's friend allowing us to borrow there toy hauler for some of my family to sleep in!! We created some wonderful memories and laughed so much. We were way spoiled this year by everyone! We really focused though on the the real meaning behind Christmas. On Christmas Eve we ate appetizers and read the Polar Express and talked about believing! I gave each person a bell to help them remember to believe in the spirit of Christmas. We then read the the story about Christs birth from the scriptures. It was great to have family discussion as well. Then we opened our jammies and were off to sleep.

Christmas morning was great we all took turns opening the gifts we had. Bentley was not sure about opening them, but with a little help he did it. After we looked in our stockings to see what was inside. I had asked everyone before they came to put something in each person's stocking that resembled the true meaning of Christmas. We all told why we chose what we did and why we thought it resembled Christs birth. My mom then read the Christmas story called..The wooden shoes...I think. It was amazing followed by her testimony. We then ate our famous Holdiay breakfast and started preparing for our Huge feast later in the day.

All in all I felt the spirit on Christmas and created so many fond memories. My family stayed until Saturday and then we were excited to have Nick's family come on Sunday. We had a second Christmas on Monday morning with Nick's family. We have had so much fun with them this week while they have been here. I will post more of what we did later! Thanks everyone for coming and making it so memorable! We love you all :)

Happy Birthday Nicholas!!

On the Dec. 18th it was Nicholas's Birthday!! He turned 23! We started out that morning by opening his gifts and Bentley had to help! Then we headed to El Palacio for his birthday lunch with some friends and co-workers. Later that night we went out to Chili's for dinner with our friends Jessica and AJ that came and stayed the night on there way to St. George. He got a Dillon 550 Reloader (for ammunition) and accessories to go with it. He was thrilled. I think this birthday was a hit! Love you babe!

Post overload!!

Here is our fun Christmas tree! I love decorating for the holidays and this year I did it before Thanksgiving :)I will post a slide show of the Christmas extravaganza at the Westbrook's! We were luck enough to have two weeks of family and fun!!

Bentley was way passed done at this point of the reception and we were ready to GO!

Here we are at the reception that night. It turned out so pretty, but Bentley was very restless from the rushing around we did all day.

At the beginning of December my twin brother Mckay was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to his beautiful wife Amy!! Aren't they so cute!

Also while we were up in Utah for Thanksgiving we had a gingerbread contest and here we are with ours.

I think this picture is so priceless. Before Thanksgiving dinner we were outside around the fire watching the kids play caught this cute moment between father and son.

Here we are again :) Outside with the beautiful scenery. It was raining too!

Bryson was so nice to take a few pics of us outside and here is one I thought was cute.

I know its really late but here is our little family outside on the back porch of Nick's parents cabing in Pine Valley, UT.

Before Thanksgiving I made this Christmas tablerunner. It turned out so cute and a big thanks to Cindy for providing everything and letting us daughter-in-laws come sew at your house!

Catch up!

Well so much has been going on lately that I haven't wanted to blog becuase it would take so many posts. Since I don't really feel like uploading all of the pictures right now I figured I would just write and tell you a little about what we have been up to.

Well back in October Nick was able to Elk hunting with his brothers and dad. His hunt was successful and he shot a 6 point. I will post pics hopefully later.

Also while he was hunting I went up north to my soon to be sister-in-laws shower. It was tons of fun.

In November we went to St. George for Thanksgiving and had a great time. We spent it with Nick's family at there cabin up in the Pine Valley Mtns. We made some cute advent calendars out of the pottery barn kids magazine and we also had a gingerbread contest. So much fun. Pics to come.

Then we turned back around and headed north again to Lehi and SLC, UTah. My twin brother Mckay and his fiance Amy were sealed in the Salt lake temple on the 4th. It was beautiful! We were also able to do a session at the Timpanogas temple the night before. It was a crazy busy week with lots of driving and decorating, but it was well worth it. Pics to come.

Now we are home and staying home until January. I am just glad to say that I have had my Christmas decor up since the week before Thanksgiving! The lights have been on the house since then to. Way to go Nick!

My Christmas shopping is done and now I need to wrap wrap wrap! Nick actually beat me under the tree this year. He has my presents all wraped and labeled! He is learning lol.

I have a work Christmas party this weekend and next week is Nick's b-day and then a work Christmas party for him as well. Then I get to host 12 family members for Christmas! Yipee.

O and we are putting on a dinner with the YW and YM for the widowed and elderly in our ward...not to mention on nick's bday.

Bentley is getting so big and has been sleeping so well. He had been going to bed at 8 like usual but has been waking up after 9 :) I love it. Hope it all lasts. He is saying more words like, hi, dog, duck, mom, dad, eyes, nose, nana (banana), bye bye, shoes, no and go.

This is just a little update and there is more to come! Hope everyone is having a happy holiday!
