Weekend fun!

To top off the night my friend Summer gave me this delicious recipe for a soup! I made it tonight and put it in bread bowls! All I can say is YUMMY!!!!!! Now I am tired and ready for Sunday!
Ok...so I thought I would try it on! Keep in mind it's a Saturday afternoon and that means LAZY for me!

Well today being Saturday I thought I would cross something off my list of "To Do's" so I made this Hooter Hider for Baby Westbrook coming in 6 and a half weeks! I got the fabric last weekend in Vegas with a friend at one of the best quilt shops...Quiltique! Gotta Love it!!

Mmmmm! I could eat him!

Daddy pushing him on the swing!

It was getting a bit breezy, but had to snap a picture with my lil guy!

Isn't he a true boy? Gotta have a ball wherever you go! Isn't he so handsome! We love him :)

Bentley is figuring out how to go down the slide by himself! I love to see the look on his face when he does it. It is such a look of accomplishment!

Friday was an eventful day! Some friends and I took our kids to the park and then to Pizza Hut for lunch. Bentley had so much fun and was ready for his nap when we got home. He loved the other kids and mom enjoyed hanging out with some friends. I actually forgot to take my camera to the park and lunch during the day so the pictures above are from later Friday night when Nick and I took Bentley back to the park. We love this nice weather!

Update!

So I FINALLY after living here in this home for 71/2 months got some drided flowers etc to go in my tin wall vases...My wall has looked so incomplete, but not now! I had to post about it cuz really this is a big accomplishment :) for me. This was our Valentines to eachother! We were up in St. George and Nick's parents home.

Nick surprised me with a dozen red roses and an AMAZING card! Cards mean so much to me! Thanks babe you make me fall more in love everyday!
Nick needed some new shirts so that is what he got whether he like it or not I don't know lol. He doesn't like gettng clothes. Regardless he said "Thanks!"

This was our 3rd attempt to get a pic together with Nick's eyes OPEN! so he looks like he is trying really hard haha! Love ya babe! Also my big belly is like POPPING out of the picture...8 weeks left.. I think.

As for Bentley he is doing so much better! We took him in for a follow up last Thursday in St. George and he needed a steroid shot. He did very well and is getting better quickly. Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers! We are finally getting sleep around this place. Well Bentley is I still seem to wake up at odd hours of the night..PREGNANCY??

Seriously...whats wrong with me blogging at 4:30 am??

Well I don't know if it's being pregnant, not being at my house in my bed, drinking to much water last night, or the fact that Nick and I have some decisions to make that are weighing on my mind??? Anyhow I am sitting here blogging at 4:30am. My brain wouldn't shut off at 1:30 am this morning when Nick and I were still up chit chatting and then my baby woke me up at 4 kicking my full bladder and the rest is history. O well thank heavens for BLOGS :)

I guess I will update you a little on Bentley since today is day 6 of him having his sickness :( He is actually on the mend I am glad to say. Wow it's a lot of work having a sick baby that needs antibiotics three times a day along with 3 breathing treatments and Tylenol, LOTS OF LOVE and naps etc. We see the doctor here in St. George today and I am hoping that his ear infection is healing quickly or gone by now and that his lungs are clearing up. He is sleeping better the last two nights and his fever is gone. He still is coughing up lots, has congestion and isn't eating real great. Yesterday he ate three bites of cereal, 6 chips, one bite of banana, one gold fish cracker and about five bites of Cafe Rio (cheese quesadilla). That isn't much, but it's an improvement. He is also drinking about 1-1.5 cups of liquids as well.

Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers and calls it has meant a lot. Anyhow since I am not tired yet I guess I'll post some pics of the things that I just got in for Bentley's new room...I am getting excited!

This darling map I love it! I hope maybe it can be educational!
This table and chair set!

And a preview of some of his bedding!
I hope that it all turns out... we are actually going to pick up the brick for his one wall tomorrow and my family is coming down in a few weeks to do a room and furniture makeover!! Wish us luck!
Now is 5:45 am... it did't take me that long to do this post haha I have been of course "surfing the web" I guess you could say. Do I try and go back to sleep or hop in the shower and get ready for the day??? Well I am off to do....SOMETHING!

Something is in the air here in Kingman!

Well where to start? I feel like probably a lot of other mom's here in Kingman right now that have sick children! My heart goes out to all of you (you know who guys are :)) Anyways..this past Saturday Bentley woke up at 1:06 am which NEVER happens seriously and was crying harder than usual, but gasping for air inbetween too. I new right away that he was coming down with something. I rocked him for a minute and then layed him back down and he slept until 8 that morning. He woke up though with labored breathing and was running a fever and lethargic. I immediately started him on Albuterol breathing treatments (thank heavens I have the machine) hoping to prevent his lungs from getting any worse and also to clear up whatever was going on down in them. I gave him Tylenol for his fever which broke after a few hours.

This routine went on all day he didn't do much of anything just layed on Nick and I and drank maybe a cup of liquids (not a lot). I debated taking him to the Urgent Care here or the ER, but didn't really want to do either. I said a prayer that he would get feeling better and went on with our nightly routine. As the night came things were getting worse...he didn't sleep but maybe 5 hours total which means mom didn't either.

Sunday morning same things as Saturday. Weezing, cough started, runny nose, throwing up, fever etc etc. I kept asking Nick should I take him in ... he said let's just watch him. I was getting worried because the week before some of our good friends had there little boy in the hospital for a couple of days with similar symptoms turning out to be RSV. I didn't want Bentley to end up there. I asked her what they were doing there for her little guy and they were giving him some med's for his lungs, breathing treatments, tylenol and motrin for his fever and obviously and IV for fluids. I thought to myself I am already doing two of those four things and Bentley is at least drinking some. But I still worried if he needed an antibiotic for any symptoms (I.e. ear infection etc) because you can't treat RSV with meds because it is a virus. Well he continued about the same through out the day only napping a little and coughing so hard that he was throwing up constantly. O and I had to call Nick home from work to watch him so that I could at least go teach my YW the third hour of church.

The night was miserable for Bentley and a little for me. I just felt so helpless. for him. I was doing all that I could do though. Then when this morning (mon) came and he wasn't making to much progress so I decided I was going to take him somewhere no matter what anyone said lol (nick) haha. Most of you know that our awesome doc for Bentley lives in St. George and so far haven't had any problems making up there for all of his visits, but today was different. I called a friend who gave me a number to a pediatrician here in Kingman and I called there office and lucky enough they got us right in yay! O not to mention it's been snowing here all day so I didn't want to take him out in it but this was becoming urgent.

2:45 we were off to the doctor! I bundled my lil guy up the best I could and carried him in. He threw up from coughing hard on the way there and cried the whole time in the waiting room. They were very fast and prompt and got us right back. Bentley had a low grade fever (he was on Tylenol) and weighed 23 lbs. The nurse said the doc would be right in, sure enough right after she went out he came in.

Long office visit made short...he was diagnosed with a right ear infection, pneumonia and possible RSV :( He did say that I was doing the right thing by starting his breathing treatments three days before and that I was giving him liquids and tylenol. He prescribed us some meds and told me to observe him over the next 24 hours to see how he was doing with the liquid thing. If he doesn't drink any or continues to throw up he might need to be admitted for an IV. So I am praying that he will drink for me and that the meds along with the treatments will better him quickly!

So should have I taken him in earlier??? Probably, but I didn't so here we are trying to nurse our little boy back to health. We are suppose to go on a trip to Utah on Wed night so hopefully we still can!

I will update you on his status later :) Thanks for the prayers family!!

Friends and Fun!

This week has been full of fun! On Wednesday Nick and I had a Valentines dinner/Party at our house with some couples that are just a blast! Jeremiah and Hillary Divis and Brit and Summer Haws. I work with Summer and then Hillary and her family just moved into the ward :) YAY Anyhow come to find out that Summer and Hillary are really good friends so we had them both over and ate yummy food and played SCUM!

I made like 5 dozen sugar cookies and frosted them and also did some fun Valentines cupcakes...I should have taken pics they were so darling, but they are all gonow now. We sent them home with some and then I took the rest to Young Womens last night.

It is so much fun to meet new friends especially when they are LDS like you! I know living in Utah I took LDS friends for granted because they were easy to find, but here they are few and far between it seems. So life is GOOD! Thanks for coming over Hillary and Summer! We will for sure have to do it again.

Summer and I got talking at work about our new little babies that are coming like a few weeks apart from eachother and she had mentioned that she wanted to sew some baby blankets and that she had bought some fabric, but she needed sewing lessons. I told her I like to sew, but by no means can I give lessons lol, I can teach the basics though (Thanks to my wonderful mom). On Wed afternoon I went over to her house and we got started. I wanted to sew one first to see how it would go then I would help her so here is the first one! It is darling. I was a little skeptical about sewing meinkey and Sating, but it wasn't to bad! I am looking forward to going back today and helping her with more!!!

9 weeks and 6 days to go and COUNTING!!

9 weeks and 6 days to go and I am counting down. I am getting so excited for this new little boy to arrive, but nervous that we aren't sure on a name yet. That will come with time i guess. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with some of the projects I need to get done before the baby arrives:

-Paint Bentley's furniture for his new room
-Brick the wall in his bedroom
-Clean out the closet in his new room
-Get him sleeping him sleeping in his "BIG" bed
-Purchase a double stroller and NEW car seat :(
-Get bedrails for Bentley
-Paint the shelving that is going in Bentley's room
-Assemble Bentley's new table and chairs that came for his room
-O and we have to finish the backyard! GRASSSSS YIPPEE

and the list goes on and on and on. Thank heavens my mom and dad are coming to the rescue in March with there paint sprayer so that we can accomplish the painting easier. My dad is the best! Also he has done masonary work his whole life and is going to be the one helping Nick put the brick on the wall in his room. My mom is coming to help me decorate as well. I have gathered all the decor and now I just need another eye to help me put it in place. I am so excited everything should turn out so cute!!
