Party Time Again!

First off I have to let everyone know that this entire blog post and pictures came from Summer Haws blog! I saw this and asked her if I could just copy and paste it onto my blog for journaling purposes and she said sure. If you are wondering why this is not first person its because this is Summer writing the following! Thanks Summer for letting me still your post! What can I say...we are PARTY girls! This past weekend my good friend Abby and I put on a baby shower for another great friend of ours Hillary. Even though this was her 4th baby we wanted to put on a shower for her. It took some convincing but finally she accepted. Let me just say that Hillary is the one who threw me a baby shower after having my second girl and said, "Every baby deserves new outfits and gifts." And having a beautiful baby is a great reason to celebrate! Here are a few of our decorations.
Our theme was red and aqua colors. A few things at our food table.
Our food table. Our menu consisted of Pasta chicken salad on croissants, veggies and fruit with dip, water bottles decorated with cute scrapbook paper, and coconut cupcakes.

The invitation.
And the guest of honor, Hillary.
And the other guest of honor, Adelyn Jeanne Divis. She was born January 28, 2011, 8 lbs and 20 inches long. Hillary didn't know if she was having a girl or boy until the delivery so we had to wait until after she was born to have the shower.
And she was the highlight of the party. Here is Lacy and Adelyn. I don't think she was put down once during the party.
Making the final preparations for the party.
We had a candy bar with candy that matched the color theme.

Side table decorations.
We played a candy bar game (thinking this was a great idea since we have a candy theme) so we came across a game from a blog. Well we copied the design from one and had to find the answers from another blog since the first blog didn't have the answers. Well Abby and I were obviously busy with the other preparations and we didn't catch that some of the questions were not on the blog with the answers. So the game didn't go as smooth as we were hoping, but it ended up being ok. Even though the game didn't turn out as great as we were hoping the prizes were! Caramel apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory!
We had a surprise for Hillary. Abby contacted one of Hillary's best friends and her sister who both live in Utah and they made that long trip to be here for the shower. She didn't know they were coming until they showed up at the shower. Hillary almost cried when she saw them. It was a great moment!

Fish Food

Bentleys' snack for his preschool class. I was totally stressed out on Sunday night stressed because I had totally forgotten about him having snack. Nick was getting all the ingredients out for us to make Valentine's sugar cookies, but mind you it was late and that would have been a lot of work. While he was getting ready to make them I hopped on the computer and thanks for wonderful bloggers! I found this and it worked!

Happy Birthday Hillary

Summer and I got her a personalized stamp from expressionary.com and a cute platter!

All of us after eating at Chili's. Hillary I hope you had a special birthday. You are such a great friend and those aren't easy to come by! Love ya girl.

Squipsture Reading (Bentley calls it)

I came out of the computer room a few weeks ago because I heard this quaint little voice coming from the living room. He was telling himself about Noah and the ark. That the animals went on two by two...even penguins I heard him say. Mind you he was just randomly turning pages in the Book of Mormon. The reason he was talking about Noah was the Monday prior for family night we had gone to the Jones' and I gave a lesson on Noah and the ark. Regardless it was so fulfilling for me as a mother that he even had the thought after his bath and before bed that he needed to read his squipstures.

Bentley I hope that you can learn from our example continue to grow in the gospel by prayer and scripture reading!
Love your cute face!

Movie Time

I asked Bentley what he thought would be a fun activity to do the other afternoon. He told me that he wanted to get in his chair with his soft blanket and popcorn and watch a movie. I said I can do that. I popped some popcorn turned on a The Bee Movie and here they are enjoying themselves!
Something must of been on my lens?
 Nixon totally glued...

Bentley crawled in the cabinet in our entertainment center soon to realize that it was too small ;)

Snack time!

Nixon and Bentley enjoying there string cheese :)
I love these boys! They are always HUNGRY!

The Bridal Shower

January 15, 2011 I was able to throw my baby sister's shower! Above are some of the people that were there when it ended and so I snapped this quick picture.
Lindsey and I in front of the Candy Buffet.

My wonderful mother, sister and I. My mom also helped so much with putting this party on!
Thanks mom for seriously running to the different stores up there for me like 10 times! Your the best!

Some of the fun candy dishes. Above are sixlets.
Swirl pops. (Thanks Katie for the cute vase!)
The entry way. In the frame I placed her invite.
Lacey and I just before we put the food out etc. We served Pasta Factory's Chicken Bowtie Salad, their bread twists, coconut cupcakes (Barefoot Contessa) and water bottles wrapped in cute paper that matched the theme. The party favor that each of them took was a bag of candy that they filled with candy from the Candy Buffet. The shower turned out amazing and she had a fabulous turnout!

Lindsey you are an amazing girl and I couldn't have had more fun! I loved watching you open your gifts! You were so thrilled about every single one! I loved some of you answers to the game that we played. I remember one of the questions that was asked, "What are you most worried about on our wedding day?" I was thinking that the typical answer would have been SEX haha but no my sweet little sis said, "The Temple!" I love you sis! I had a hard time holding back the tears the whole time?! Not really sure why. I LOVE YOU!
